A Delegation from the College of Medicine – University of Anbar Visits the College of Medicine – University of Kufa and Signs a Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Academic Cooperation
As part of its continuous efforts to enhance scientific cooperation and advance the educational process, an official delegation from the College of Medicine – University of Anbar conducted an academic visit to the College of Medicine – University of Kufa on Wednesday and Thursday, April 8–9, 2026.
The delegation was headed by the Dean of the College of Medicine – University of Anbar, Professor Dr. Waleed Nassar Jaffal, and was received by the Dean of the College of Medicine – University of Kufa, Professor Dr. Ahmed Athab Muayan Al-Zubaidi, along with a number of assistant deans, heads of departments, and faculty members.
The visit witnessed the signing of a joint Memorandum of Understanding between the two colleges, aimed at expanding horizons of academic and scientific cooperation, and exchanging expertise in the fields of medical education, scientific research, and clinical training. This initiative seeks to enhance the quality of medical education outcomes in line with national and international accreditation requirements.
The visit program also included specialized scientific workshops on the integrated curriculum adopted at the College of Medicine – University of Kufa. These workshops were held over two days with the participation of a distinguished group of medical education experts. The sessions addressed modern experiences in curriculum development, mechanisms for implementing integrated education, and contemporary assessment methods, along with open discussions and exchange of ideas and expertise between both sides.
The events were attended by several heads of scientific departments, faculty members, and the official in charge of the Medical Education Unit, who emphasized the importance of this visit in supporting academic development and strengthening institutional partnerships among medical colleges in Iraq.
At the conclusion of the visit, both parties expressed their commitment to activating the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding and to developing joint implementation plans, including training programs, future workshops, and collaborative research projects, thereby enhancing the academic standing of both institutions and contributing to the service of the community and the healthcare sector.
