College of Medicine – University of Anbar Holds a Scientific Seminar on the Latest Developments in Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery

The College of Medicine at the University of Anbar held a specialized scientific seminar titled “The Latest Developments in Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery” on Friday, February 13, 2026. The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Walid Nassar Jaffal, as part of the College’s ongoing scientific activities aimed at promoting academic and professional development and keeping pace with modern advancements across various medical specialties.

The seminar witnessed distinguished and wide participation from ophthalmologists representing different Iraqi governorates, in addition to a large number of faculty members, postgraduate students, and individuals interested in the medical field. This strong attendance reflects the College’s esteemed academic standing and its leading role in supporting continuing medical education.

The seminar featured several advanced scientific lectures delivered by a select group of professors from the College of Medicine, alongside specialized academics from outside the College. The lectures addressed the latest surgical techniques and recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Clinical case presentations and fruitful scientific discussions were also included, enriching both the academic and practical knowledge of the attendees.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the Dean emphasized the importance of continuing to organize such scientific events, as they contribute to the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of cooperation between academic institutions and the healthcare sector, ultimately enhancing the quality of medical services provided to the community.
