The College of Medicine – University of Anbar Receives a Committee from the Iraqi Council for Medical Specializations to Accredit a Training Center for the Iraqi Board
Upon the directive of the President of the University of Anbar, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Saleh Al-Nida, the College of Medicine – University of Anbar received a committee from the Iraqi Council for Medical Specializations, for the purpose of accrediting a training center for the Iraqi Board in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This comes within the University’s efforts to develop medical education and enhance the level of healthcare services in Anbar Governorate.
The committee was received by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Walid Nassar Jafal, in the presence of the Director General of the Anbar Health Directorate, Dr. Khudair Khalaf Shalal, the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the College, Professor Dr. Rafel Mustafa Murshid, in addition to a number of faculty members, lecturers, and specialist physicians from the College and Al-Ramadi Teaching Hospital for Women and Children.
During the meeting, mechanisms and criteria for accrediting an approved training center were discussed, in a manner that supports Iraqi Board programs and contributes to the development of specialized medical staff.

The visit also included a field tour to Al-Ramadi Teaching Hospital for Women and Children to review the available training capabilities and infrastructure. The committee was received by the Hospital Director, Dr. Hatem Hamdan, and the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Tamadur Maddah Hassan, during which the hospital’s readiness to join the advanced medical training system was presented.
At the conclusion of the visit, the committee praised the efforts exerted by the University Presidency, the College Deanship, and the Hospital Administration, affirming that the accreditation of the training center will represent an important step toward strengthening medical education and improving the level of healthcare services in Anbar Governorate.
