
College of Medicine at University of Anbar Honored at Ministry of Higher Education Ceremony Marking International Accreditation

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the capital city Baghdad hosted a central ceremony commemorating the first anniversary of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges receiving global recognition from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
The event was attended by numerous academic and official figures, including the representative of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the President of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), a select group of deans from Iraqi medical colleges, and the Chairperson and members of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges.
During the ceremony, the College of Medicine at the University of Anbar, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Walid Nassar Jaffal, was honored in recognition of its outstanding efforts in achieving international accreditation standards, following its accreditation by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
In his remarks, the Dean of the College of Medicine emphasized that this honor reflects the college’s commitment to delivering high-quality medical education, advancing scientific research, and graduating competent medical professionals capable of meeting societal needs. He also stressed the importance of continuing to develop academic and training programs in line with the latest global standards.
It is worth noting that the College of Medicine at the University of Anbar is a leading institution in medical education in Iraq. It boasts advanced medical simulation laboratories and actively seeks to expand scientific collaboration with international universities and research centers.
