In alignment with the directives of Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, President of the University of Anbar, the College of Medicine at the University of Anbar has launched a wide-ranging tree-planting campaign as part of the “University of Anbar: A Green Oasis” initiative. The campaign is supervised and actively supported by Professor Dr. Walid Nassar Jaffal, Dean of the College of Medicine, coinciding with the National Afforestation Day announced by the Prime Minister, a national effort to promote a culture of afforestation and environmental conservation.
Dozens of staff members and students participated in planting trees and improving the university's environmental climate, reflecting the shared commitment between the university administration and the national initiative led by the government.
This campaign responds to the university’s directives and aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of making National Afforestation Day a platform for launching sustainable environmental projects. Hundreds of trees and shrubs were planted in the college gardens, marking a significant step in supporting the government-led green initiative.
Expanding the Campaign and Raising Awareness
The campaign plans to expand its scope by organizing awareness workshops for students on sustainability. This effort is in line with the National Afforestation Day guidelines and the university’s strategic plan to increase green spaces. The initiative aims to beautify campus spaces and create an environment that fosters study and innovation.
