
A Delegation from the College of Medicine – University of Anbar Visits the University of Sousse to Strengthen Scientific Cooperation
As part of the University of Anbar’s strategic approach to strengthening academic ties with Arab universities, an official delegation from the College of Medicine conducted a scientific visit to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sousse in the Republic of Tunisia. The delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Waleed Nassar Jaffal, Dean of the College of Medicine.
The delegation included several prominent academic figures from the college:

During the visit, the delegation met with Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ben Thieb, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sousse, along with several faculty and administrative members. The discussions focused on strengthening the partnership between the two institutions across academic, research, and training dimensions.
Both sides exchanged introductory presentations highlighting their respective colleges’ academic programs, scientific capabilities, and future development plans, paving the way for future collaboration.
The talks resulted in several key proposals, including:

Launching joint research teams between the two faculties

Activating the “Visiting Professor” program through mutual academic visits

Establishing joint supervision of graduate and undergraduate student research projects

The delegation also toured several advanced laboratories and affiliated teaching hospitals at the University of Sousse, gaining firsthand insights into the facilities, disciplines, and infrastructure, which helped identify areas for practical collaboration.
This visit comes within the broader framework of the University of Anbar’s ongoing efforts to engage with academic institutions across the Arab world, aiming to enrich educational and research opportunities and provide advanced training for both students and faculty members.
